If you've ever worked on a drive that's shared between a system running OS X and a system running some other OS, you've encountered the numerous metadata files that OS X likes to litter all drives with. There are lots of them:
.DS_Store
.Trashes
.TemporaryItems
.Spotlight-V100
._.Trashes
I'm sure there are more of them. This is just what I found on one of my USB sticks.
Apple needs to figure out a better way of storing this data. At the very least they could put them all in a directory so that we only end up with one entry in the root of the drive.
Just to clarify last post: Of course it is a Apple store : )
